In response to reduced visitor arrivals from the mainland and Japan, the Big Island is asking kama'aina for their business to help bolster the economy."Kama'aina support can make a huge difference right now for our airline and hospitality industry," said Big Island Visitors Bureau executive director George Applegate. "Why not pack a bag this weekend and bring the keiki, catch up with friends and family you haven't seen in awhile."
Here are some of the kama'aina deals being offered at Big Island properties. Check for restrictions; proof of Hawaii residency is required.
>> ASTON Kona By The Sea has one- and two-bedroom condominium accommodations. Rates start at $157 nightly for a one-bedroom with kitchen and $207 for a two-bedroom condo. Call (808) 327-2300.
