Second suspect arrested in stabbing at restaurant

Honoluu police arrested a second suspect in connection with a Waikiki stabbing Tuesday and are looking for a third man.

A 20-year-old Ala Moana man was arrested Wednesday night for attempted murder. Police arrested an 18-year-old Makiki man Tuesday night. Police believe the second suspect chased the victim into a fast-food restaurant on Kalakaua Avenue and assaulted him before the first suspect stabbed the victim. The victim, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

Woman and her 2 kids robbed at Mililani home

Police are looking for the suspect in a home invasion robbery Wednesday in Mililani. Police said the resident, a 31-year-old woman, was in the back yard when her two children, a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy, called to her from the house.

When she entered the home, the woman told police a man was already inside and demanded she hand over her wallet.

Police said the man disguised himself by tying a garment over part of his face. The woman told police the man forced her two children into a bathroom and made her lie on the floor. The robber fled in the family's van, police said.

UH enters alliance for marketing technology

The University of Hawaii and UTEK Corp. announced yesterday an alliance expected to put more of the university's patented inventions into the hands of technology companies.

The University of Hawaii Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development markets 174 active technologies, some of which have already been licensed, according to program manager Jonathan Roberts.

The technologies spring from research in agriculture, biology, medicine, engineering, physical sciences and other fields.

Police seek 2 brothers on assault charges

Police are looking for two Haleiwa brothers, ages 21 and 17, in connection with a stabbing of a neighbor about 11:00 last night .

Police said the victim, a 23-year-old Haleiwa man, went to the brothers' home at 66-779 E. Haleiwa Road and got into a fight.

Police said the two brothers punched the victim and the older brother stabbed him in the lower right rib area. The victim was taken by helicopter to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

HONOLULU

2 men hospitalized after traffic crash

Two men were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a head-on traffic collision last night on Keeaumoku Street.

Police said a 2000 Lincoln sedan driven by a 44-year-old man was traveling north on Keeaumoku just past the Kinau Street intersection about 9:30 p.m. when it crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with a 1992 Ford sedan driven by a 45-year-old man traveling in the opposite direction.

Both men were taken to the Queen's Medical Center where the driver of the Ford was reported in critical condition and the driver of the Lincoln was reported in fair condition.
