If you are looking for something patriotic to do tomorrow, the Freemasons of Hawaii will hold a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party as part of their Constitutional Observance program.

Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. tomorrow, the Freemason members, as well as community and youth groups, will gather at the Aloha Tower Marketplace for a historic speech and a recital of the national anthem before marching down the wharf, where they will board the three-mast sailing ship Falls of Clyde.

There the group, dressed in period uniforms, will throw prop boxes of tea into the harbor. Historical figures portrayed will include Ben Franklin, who will discuss the U.S. Constitution; Patrick Henry, who will argue for the Bill of rights; and Thomas Jefferson, who will present awards to school-age winners of a statewide essay contest.

David Franklin, great-grandnephew of Benjamin Franklin, will be in attendance, said organizer George Theofanis.

"We're going to dedicate it to the fallen Americans," Theofanis said, referring to the victims of this week's terrorist bombings.

The Royal Hawaiian Band will perform, he said.

The annual event will end with Shriners Hospital children releasing 225 red, white and blue pigeons, followed by a Patriots Party.

Theofanis said 1,000 people attended last year's event, and he expects at least double the crowd this year, given the circumstances. He said people feel patriotic right now and that they want to get out and show how they feel.
