Barbara R. Bamford, 75, of Honolulu, died Aug. 6. She was born in New York. She is survived by daughter Tabitha, son Thaddeus, brother Richard Kates and three grandchildren. Richard Thomas Bissen, 71, a retired heavy equipment operator, died Aug. 15 at home. He was also a retired safety officer, a retired sergeant first-class with the U.S. Army, a past post commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past chaplain of Disabled Veterans. He was born in Paia, Maui.
