Margaret S. Carreira, 91, of Kaneohe, formerly of Kalihi, died Thursday in Castle Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. Kam Hon Chang, 93, of Honolulu, a retired compositor at the Hawaii Newspaper Agency, died Wednesday in St. Francis Hospice-Nuuanu. He was born in China. He is survived by sons Herbert K.Y., Albert K.K. and Robert K.Y.; daughter Marilyn B.Y. Ching; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were private.

Jeanette Tsuruko Gornichec, 74, of Honolulu, owner of Modern Pet Center, died Friday at home. She was born in Lahaina, Maui. She is survived by sons Frank J. and Robert J. Donald Ralph Kahele, 57, of Waianae, died Tuesday at Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. Tagumpay "Ruben" Piedad Mata, 71, of Pearl City, a retired logistic management specialist at FTSCPAC Detachment, Pearl Harbor, and chief store keeper, died July 28. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Lynn; daughters Ruby Mata-Viti, Melani Mata-Carias and Gail Arakaki; brothers Tahimik and Payapa; sister Ligaya Reyes; and five grandchildren.
