KHET/PBS
"Na Mele: Traditions in Hawaiian Song" presents,
from left, Bryan Tolentino, Jerry Santos and Wally
Suenaga at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow on KHET/PBS
with a repeat at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Aloha Tower opens
twice-weekly farmer's market

Aloha Tower Marketplace has introduced a farmer's market, selling fresh fruits and vegetables, kettle popcorn and crafts.

Yellow watermelon, tiger tomatoes and several varieties of papaya are among the specialties offered, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays along the marketplace promenade.

Parking is $2 with validation; $3 for valet parking. Call 566-2337.

Wine notes

Diamond Head Winery is featuring ice wines in a tasting, 6 p.m. Friday. Try an Ice Wine Float -- wine with ice cream and whipping cream -- or sample the more traditional Johannisberg Riesling or Piesporter. The winery -- actually a make-it-yourself wine workshop on Sand Island Access Road -- will be holding tastings on the first and third Fridays monthly.

The winery is also offering private wine-tasting parties for groups of up to 12. During the party, customers may purchase wine kits as teams, sharing the cost and the wine they produce.

Another group activity -- wine-swapping -- allows for the trading of wines made at the shop, so customers may sample different grape varietals.

Owner Val Texiera notes that July is the time to blend wines for Christmas giving. Call 841-9463.
