Rudolph "Rudy" Apisa, 54, of Aiea, died June 18 in Aiea. He was born in American Samoa. He is survived by daughter Robyn; son Jon; brothers Dennis Apisa, Siaosi Thompson and Bill, Bob, Tailepeaua and Norman Apisa; and sisters Caroline Dipzinski, Tina Hudson, Esther Shimasaki, Ta'avale Anu'u and Tofa Mulitavaopele. Memorial services: 9 a.m. Thursday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Casual attire.

Herbert E. "Van" Benham, 83, of Kailua-Kona, an instructor in aerial navigation at the University of Miami, died April 25 in Kailua-Kona. He was born in Esther, Mo. He is survived by wife Yolanda J.; children Eric Van, Leslie Ann and Blaze Van; hanai son Steve Sklar; brothers Melvin and Clyde; sister Gladys; and two grandchildren. Memorial services: 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, on the hill above Manago Hotel in Kainaliu. No flowers. Donations suggested to American Heart Association.

Violet A. Burgher, 84, died Tuesday in Kaiser Medical Center. She was born in Bryte, Calif. She is survived by daughter Pat Humackich and son Alex Humackich. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 45-435 Aumoku St., Kaneohe.

Laurie Jo Harvey, 39, of Honolulu, died Wednesday in Honolulu. She was born in Canada. She is survived by father Dr. Arthur; mother Patricia; sisters Deborah Harvey, Lois Mcfaddin and Catharine Mullins; brother Charles; and a grandmother. Services: 7:30 and 10 a.m. tomorrow at Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church, 5339 Kalanianaole Hwy. Donations suggested to Angel Network Charities Inc.

Chiyoko Miura Suyeoka, 92, of Mililani, a retired schoolteacher with the state Department of Education, died Thursday in St. Francis-West Hospice. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai. She is survived by daughters Mildred Y. McAuley and Marian Y. Frazier; brothers Drs. Donald and David M. Miura; sisters Masako Ishii, Hatsue Masaoka and Satoko Masamura; and a grandson. Services: 2 p.m. tomorrow at Manoa Japanese Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial of ashes: 2 p.m. Monday at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Aloha attire. No flowers.

Patrick Kalei Tilton, 51, of Honolulu, a Handi-Van driver, died Wednesday. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by wife Cheryl; children Gordon, Shawn "Kalei" and Justin; brothers Alvin, Robert and Carl Tilton and Harvey Loves; sisters Leslie Schilling and Charmaine Kahikina; and a granddaughter. Committal services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire.

Viona C. Hansen Whitlow, 98, of Honolulu, co-owner of Honolulu Business College, died June 17 in Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was also an instructor of shorthand. She was born in Wisconsin. She is survived by grandnephew Thomas C. Martin, niece Della Ardella Ebersold, sister-in-law Louise and family of Mosinee, Wis. Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oahu Cemetery. Casual attire.
