Helen Satomi Abreu, 83, of Waipahu died Saturday. She was born in Waianae. She is survived by husband John; son John Jr.; daughters Laura Perry, Charlotte Ito, Geraldine Hall and Karen Bradbury; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Vernon Akuna, 72, of Victorville, Calif., formerly of Hilo, a retired aircraft designer at Northrop Aircraft in Hawthorne, Calif., died April 2 in Victorville. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Sherwood and Sherwin, sisters Minerva Muller and Dorothea Stevens, three granddaughters and a great-granddaughter. Services held.

Lily Kauihou Kapua Keka Ancheta, 85, of Kailua-Kona, a retired room maid at the former Interisland Resort Kona Inn Hotel, died May 26 in Kona Community Hospital. She also worked at the former Kona Hilton Hotel and Wally's Kona Laundry. She was born in Kalaupapa. She is survived by sons Joseph, Peter and Arthur Keka and John K. Ancheta; daughters Lydia R. Kahumoku, Harriet Shimaoka and Matilda E. Nino; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pepito Agapay Bautista, 39, of Ewa Beach died June 6. He was born in Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. Grace Lau Blake, 82, of Koloa, Kauai, a retired schoolteacher at Koloa Elementary School, died last Thursday in Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi. She was born in Honolulu. Ernest J. Bond, 81, of Kealakekua, Hawaii, a retired supervisor for the Department of Defense, died June 10 in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Segwic County, Kan. Herman Byron Carpio, 63, of Wailuku, a retired Maui police officer, died Monday at home. He was born in Wailuku. Tetsuo "Ted" Nihei, 81, of Honolulu, a retired special project vice president from Hawaiian Cement, died last Thursday. He was also general manager of Lone Star's Halawa Quarry. He was born in Waiakea, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Mitsue "Penny"; sons Paul, Roy, Fred and Glenn; brother Edwin; sisters Chiyoko Asato, Amy Nishikawa and Tokiko Morishige; and three grandchildren. Richard Yoshiwo Ono, 83, of Honolulu, a retired foreman for Sawai Brothers Painting Co., died Saturday. He was also a painting instructor at Honolulu Community College. He was born in Hilo.
