The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.



Cyanotech, Maui Land
& Pineapple stay hot

Cyanotech Corp. and Maui Land & Pineapple Co. both posted double-digit gains for the second week in a row to lead 12 other Hawaii-based companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index.

The Big Island biotech company jumped 14.17 percent over the last five trading days on the heels of last week's 20.75 percent advance. Maui Land & Pineapple once again was runner-up as it gained 11.86 percent after an 11.92 percent advance last week.

Aquasearch Inc. ended last as its stock fell 5.77 percent.
