This list of films opening this weekend runs every Tuesday in the Star-Bulletin:

"The Animal" -- Rob Schneider makes another go at broad comedy, this time as a "supercop" who gets his powers from animal organs implanted by a mad scientist after a car accident. "Survivor's" first season sweetheart Colleen Haskell makes her acting debut (PG-13).

"Moulin Rouge" -- Baz Luhrmann's much-anticipated extravaganza is about a young writer (Ewan McGregor) who defies his bourgeois father by moving to the bohemian underworld of Montmatre, Paris. Taken in by the artist Toulouse-Lautrec (John Leguizamo) and the hedonistic pleasures of the Moulin Rouge, he falls in love with its beautiful star (Nicole Kidman) (PG-13).

"What's the Worst That Could Happen?" -- A professional thief hits a mansion and runs into its billionaire owner. During the subesquent arrest, the billionaire takes the thief's good-luck ring which the thief wants back. Martin Lawrence and Danny DeVito star. (PG-13).
