Jobe, Chong top
seeds in state high
school tennis

Punahou's Ikaika Jobe and Iolani's Tracie Ann Chong are the top seeds in this weekend's Carlsmith Ball/HHSAA State Tennis Championships.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played tomorrow and Saturday at seven sites on Kauai. The finals will be held Monday at Punahou School.

Jobe and Chong lead the 22-player fields for the boys and girls singles competitions. Punahou's duo of Bucky Jencks and Chris Iwamura tops the boys doubles seedings, while Janalle and Kim Kaloi of Kamehameha are the top girls doubles seed.

Participating players and coaches are asked to refer to the HHSAA Web site (www. sportsHIgh.com) to confirm the sites and times of their matches.
