Ruby Lee Brown, 73, of Kaneohe died Thursday in Castle Medical Center. She was born in Nashville. She is survived by sons Alfred E. Malone and Roger; daughters Debbie Brown-Taylor and Lynn; sister Maggie Burton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services held in Chicago.

Steven A. "Bully" Christian, 51, of Waianae died May 1. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Lynn, brother Walter, and sisters Deborah Simpson, Hanna Suffling and Annabelle. Private services were held.

Beulah M. Crain, 99, of Kailua, a retired school teacher, died Thursday. She was born in Clark, Neb. She is survived by sister Rachel Parker. Services to be held in Nebraska.

Emeterio DeOcampo, 94, of Waimanalo, a retired stevedore from McCabe & Hamilton, died May 4. He was born in Alaminos, Pangasinan, the Philippines. He is survived by sons Mervin K. Kukahiwa and Virgilio; daughter Monalisa K. Hyatt; hanai daughter Connie Somera; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. John Frederick Gieser, 46, of Cotati, Calif., formerly of Hauula, died April 21 in Petaluma, Calif. He was born in Waialua. Daisy Nakano Hamaishi, 85, of Pukalani, a retired salesperson at Ming's Company, died Wednesday in Hale Makua in Kahului. She was born in Honomu, Hawaii. She is survived by daughter Tanee Connally; brothers Calvin and Tom Nakano; sisters Ella Hara and Mildred Coulam; and one granddaughter. Private services.

Patricia Josephine Johnston, 80, of Kihei, formerly a social worker in Washington, died March 10 at home. She was born in Montana. She is survived by daughter Taya Cesar; son Stephen P.; four grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Private services.

Sadie Kalokuokahaku Kamelamela, 82, of Hilo, a retired bartender at the Hukilau restaurant, died Monday in the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Kalapana, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Samuel Jr.; son Samson L. Brown; daughters Ruby Francis and Patsy Brown; stepsons Samuel and John; stepdaughters Karen and Cyd; sister Anna Namuo; brother Marshall Konanu; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Egidio "Edio" Furagganan Maddagan,67, of Honolulu, a retired Waikiki Duty Free Shop employee and San Miguel Corp. salesperson, died May 3. He was born in Aparri, Cagayan, the Philippines. Takeo Shimabukuro, 86, of Aiea, retired from Honolulu Painting Co., died last Sunday. He was born in Kealia, Kauai.
