Fight tickets on sale

Tickets for the May 15 boxing card, featuring Brian Viloria and Jesus Salud at the Hawaii Convention Center, are on sale at various outlets statewide.

Salud will fight Bobby Velardez in a 10-rounder. Viloria will be making his pro debut in a four-round bout against an opponent still to be named.

Prices range from $25-$100. Tickets are available at all Ticket Plus outlets, including Blaisdell box office, the University of Hawaii Campus Center box office, Foodland and Sack 'N Save stores, and Tempo Music.

Aerial title to Welsh

Hawaii's Randy Welsh won the aerial portion of the Quiksilver Pro surf meet Saturday at San Clemente, Calif. Gavin Sutherland of Hawaii finished second.

In the surfing contest, former ASP world champion Tom Curren came from behind to beat Florida's Shea Lopez. Hawaii's Fred Patacchia finished tied for fifth at the first stop of the Professional Surfing Tour of America.
