New jobs

>> Mark Gwinner has been named landscaping manager for HTH Corp. Gwinner will oversee and manage the landscaping and grounds of the Pacific Beach Hotel and the Pagoda Hotel. Gwinner was previously landscape manager for Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park and director of landscaping for Waterfront Management Ltd.

>> Jerry Alajajian and Nick Ragni have been named to newly created management positions at Tommy Bahama. The two will focus on internal communication at the company and will assist management teams at the company's various retail locations. Alajajian has been with Tommy Bahama since 1995. Ragni joined the company a year later, working at the company's second compound in Florida. 

Promotions

>> Diane Shin has been named vice president of branch sales and products at American Savings Bank. She will oversee the planning, development, coordination and implementation of all sales activities for the bank's 68 branches. Shin will also be responsible for the development and redesign of all deposit products and strategies. She has 25 years of banking experience and was most recently a regional vice president for the bank.

Recognition

>> Wesley R. Segawa has been named Engineer of the Year for 2001 by the Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers, Big Island Chapter. Segawa is president of Wesley R. Segawa and Associates, Inc. Segawa is a licensed civil and structural engineer.
