Every Oregon State starter had at least one hit last night as the Beavers cruised to an 18-7 victory over the University of Hawaii.

OSU left-hander Scott Nicholson improved his record to 9-2. He struck out eight, walked one and judiciously spaced 11 UH hits.

Curtis Davis led the Beavers' offense with four hits and five runs batted in. He also scored three times. Brian Barden had three hits and three RBIs and Josh Carter had three hits.

The Beavers jumped on Rainbow starter Sean Yamashita for four hits and three runs after he walked leadoff batter Eric Stark in the first inning.

Stark stole second and scored on Barden's one-out single to center.

After Chris Biles grounded out, Davis singled Barden home. Davis took second on a single to left by Carter and scored on Andy Jarvis' single to right.

Gregg Omori's solo home run over the center field fence in the bottom of the inning put UH on the scoreboard.

Oregon State responded with three more runs in the top of the second inning after Yamashita had retired the first two batters on routine plays.

Barden lined a two-strike pitch to center and moved to second on Biles' single to left. Davis then lined a one-strike offering over the center-field wall for a 6-1 OSU lead.

After Carter reached on a throwing error by shortstop Matt Purtell and Jarvis singled, UH acting head coach Carl Furutani replaced Yamashita with Will Quaglieri.

The outing was Yamashita's second shortest of the year. He failed to get out of the first inning against UCLA in the second series of the season.

The 'Bows scored in the eighth when pinch-hitter Ryan Anderson, a redshirt freshman, homered over the right-field wall with Patrick Scalabrini and Kimura on base. It was Anderson's first collegiate roundtripper.

Hawaii won the series opener Friday. They face Oregon State in the finale at 2:05 p.m. today.
