New jobs

>> As a result of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo's recent acquisition of Interior Design Network International Pte. Ltd., former IDNI principal Carl Ettensperger will join WATG as managing director of the Singapore office. Ettensperger has overseen design for properties around the world, including: the Bali Hyatt Spa, the Grand Hyatt Jakarta, the Sheraton Grande Laguna Beach and the Venetian Resort Casino.

>> The University of Hawaii Foundation has named Pauline Osborne chief financial officer and Richard L. "Rick" Frisch vice president of development. Frisch most recently served as executive director at the University of Arizona Foundation. Osborne was previously chief financial officer and treasurer for Queen's Health Systems.

>> Linda A. Gee has been named vice president of investment sales and leasing of PM Realty Group's Honolulu Office. She was formerly a vice president at Graham Murata Russell. She has also been elected to serve as the Institute of Real Estate Management's chapter president for 2002.

>> Kaleo Keolanui has been named director of safety and security at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Prior to joining the Pacific Beach Hotel, Keolanui was director of security and risk manager for the Doubletree Alana Waikiki.

Promotions

>> Cheryl Lehua Kauhane has been named president and chief executive officer for the YWCA of Oahu. She has been with the YWCA since 1997, most recently as senior vice president and chief operating officer.

>> Lisa A. Bail has been named partner at Goodsill, Anderson, Quinn & Stifel LLP. She is a graduate of Boston University. Bail specializes in environmental law, personal injury, contracts and product liability.

On the board

>> Alison Ueoka of the Hawaii Insurers Council has been named 2001 president of the Aloha Society of Association Executives. Other newly announced officers and directors include: vice president Carl Takamura of the Hawaii Business Round Table; secretary Roberta Cullen of Roberta Cullen Organization Management; treasurer Kathy Castillo of Hawaii Society of CPA's; immediate past president Dennis Tanimoto of the Hawaii Credit Union League; director Mark Beede of the Hawaii Pacific Tennis Foundation; director Tim Lyons of the Legislative Center; director Gail Glushenko of Aloha Airlines; director Cheryl Fernandez of Sheraton Hotels-Hawaii; director Lowell Kalapa of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii; and Cynthia Hayakawa of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Hawaii.

Recognition

>> Local attorney Gary Slovin has been named 2001 campaign chairman for the Aloha United Way. Slovin is employed at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP, concentrating on government relations and litigation. Slovin has also served as executive director of the Hawaii State Ethics Commission and was corporation counsel for the city under former mayor Eileen Anderson. The 2001 AUW campaign kicks off Aug. 30.
