Mid-Pacific claimed sole possession of first place in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball race with a 5-4 victory over Punahou yesterday at Ala Wai Field.

Isaac Omura's double in the the fourth inning scored Ryan Leong with the game-winning run. Pat McGuigan pitched six innings of shutout relief to earn the win. McGuigan struck out six batters and walked none.
