Jose "Joe" Cagalawan, 78, of Pearl City, an Army veteran and former merchant marine, died March 24. He was born in Eleele, Kauai. Herbert Sung Yoon Hong, 91, of Honolulu, a retired comptroller for the city government and co-founder of Ethel's Dress Shoppe, died Sunday at home. He was born in Kahului. Gaylene Rose Lewis, 43, of Nanakuli died March 23 in Waianae.
