There are some hungry burglars out there.

Tuesday night, Hawaii All-Star Paintball near Sand Island was burglarized for the fourth time since it opened in January, but this time they made off with hundreds of cans of food donated to the Hawaii Foodbank.

"We had a big charity game on Sunday, and each contestant brought five cans for the food bank," said paintball proprietor Brandon Cayetano. "We had more than 600 cans locked away, and they stole every one."

"The thieves brought in air tools and trucks. It was quite an operation," said Cayetano, the son of Gov. Ben Cayetano.

"They even jackhammered open the Matson container storage locker. It was welded together, and they cut right through the big security bar," he said.

Other items were taken as well, including a stereo, some tents and other supplies. "It was well planned.

"I'm kind of p--d off that they'd take food from people who really need it," said Cayetano.

"That takes some audacity, man. I can recover. But the food bank needs that kind of stuff to feed hungry people," Cayetano said.

The case is being handled by the Kalihi Police Station.
