Kaala Boys are slated to perform at Waimanalo Carnival.



Visit Waimanalo for
carnival fun, entertainment

Spend a day in the country as the Friends of Waimanalo Carnival stages three days of fun, food and entertainment tomorrow through Sunday.

There will be EK Fernandez rides, food booths, plant and craft sales, and appearances by Bart and Homer Simpson from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and entertainment tomorrow and Saturday evening.

Featured tomorrow will be Ka Kani Nui, Kahiau and O-Shen. On Saturday, the Kaala Boys, Koa'uka, Na Leo, Colón and the FM 100 Band perform.

"Local Kine Grinds" hosts Lina Girl and Bruddah Sam will also show up Saturday night for a malassada eating contest. Let's hope they leave enough of the sugar-coated treats for the contestants!

Carnival hours are 6 to midnight tomorrow; 11:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday; and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The is a fund-raiser for Waimanalo community groups including senior citizens, teens, Waimanalo Health Center, Waimanalo Hawaiian Homesteads and canoe clubs.
