University of Hawaii football coach June Jones yesterday completed his recruiting for the upcoming season with the signing of wide receiver Nate Ilaoa of North Stafford High School in Virginia.

Ilaoa, who was named Metro Area Offensive Player of the Year by the Washington Post, can also play defensive back. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder runs the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, bench presses 275 pounds and has a 36-inch vertical leap.

He was also recruited by Virginia Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Brigham Young.

"Nate was one of the most highly-rated players coming out of high school on the East Coast," Jones said in a press release today.

This brings to 20 the number of players signed by Hawaii.
