Green Day
due next month

Star-Bulletin

Green Day returns to Honolulu to perform at 3 p.m. March 25 at the University of Hawaii's Andrews Amphitheatre. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

With the 1994 major label release of the album "Dookie," Green Day reintroduced late 1970s pop-punk to listeners tired of grunge.

The group's frenetic three-chord power punk opened the door for countless other pop-punk, ska-rock and skater bands who followed their lead.

Tickets are $27.50 plus service charge and go on sale Saturday. They will be available at Tower Records-Kahala and Pearl Kai, Jelly's outlets, House of Music, the University of Hawai'i Campus Center, ITT Kaneohe MCBH, Pearl Harbor Bloch Arena & Schofield ITR.

To charge tickets by phone call 526-4400 or online at http://www.tickets.com
