Acting seminar
scheduled

Bentley Mitchum will conduct a two-day acting seminar 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 17 and 18 at the Hawaii Opera Theatre Rehearsal Hall, 987 Waimanu St.

The program is geared for actors seriously pursuing or planning to pursue a career in film, television or theater.

Mitchum, the grandson of Robert Mitchum, has acted in more than 30 films and television programs, studied with Stella Adler, and John Kirby, and teaches acting with Ivana Chubbuck at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio.

The seminar has two main areas of focus:

Bullet The business side of the industry, including developing star power presence, audition techniques, dos and don'ts of networking, marketing yourself, effective scene winning techniques and character development.

Bullet Actor participation critique session includes making adjustments and changes that work.

The workshop fee is $250 including lunch. Reservations two weeks in advance are required to insure participation. Classes are limited to 26 actors.
