Star-Bulletin staff

State hunting licenses are among items now available online.

All hunting license purchasers must have either a valid Hawaii Hunter Education Card or have a letter of exemption from the Hawaii Hunter Education Program. For further information, call 587-0200.

"We're continuing to work very hard to make it as easy as possible for the public to get the permits, licenses and other information they need to enjoy the outdoors without having to navigate through office buildings and wait in line," said Gilbert Coloma-Agaran, director, state Department of Land and Natural Resources.

"The hunting and freshwater fishing licenses are the beginning of what we hope will be many online products."

A hunting license will cost $16.25 for residents and military (online convenience fee of $1.25 included), $106.50 for non-residents (online convenience fee of $6.50 included). The license is free for resident senior citizens age 65 and older and for residents of Kalaupapa with Hansen's disease.
