in the hunt

J.P. Kanoa scored seven of his nine points in the third quarter as St. Louis beat Damien, 67-43, to keep alive faint hopes of catching first-place Iolani in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu.

PREP EXTRA The Crusaders improved to 9-2, one game behind Iolani, with one game left.

St. Louis jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and Justin Harris scored nine of his game-high 15 points in the Crusaders' 29-point third quarter. The 67 points was a season-high for St. Louis.

The Monarchs finish the season at 2-10.

Iolani wraps up the regular season tomorrow against Mid-Pacific. Defending ILH champion St. Louis closes with Punahou.
