Francis Motoda, mochi maker



Primose J. Bernades, 43, of Honolulu died Tuesday in Queen's Medical Center. She was born in the Marshall Islands. She is survived by husband Stanley; sons Lambert and Bradley; hanai son Justin Aquino; brothers Bingo, Tregar Jr., Bien, Davidson, Mannana and Telbij Jajo; sisters Emma Henry, Arweta Lorok and Maryland and Henna Jajo, and two grandsons. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Nuuanu Mortuary. Call after 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. Aloha attire.

Jayne S. Gibson, 78, of Kaneohe died Jan. 15 in the Pohai Nani Care Center. She is survived by husband William C. Jr.; son William C. III; daughter Helen Gibson Ahn; brother Arthur W. Skelton Jr.; sister Pauline Cummings, and a granddaughter. Services were private.

Roy W. Klepper, 72, of Illinois and Lahaina, Maui, a retired president and chief executive officer for Harris Bank, died Wednesday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Barrington, Ill. He is survived by wife Myrtle; daughter Kim Remendsnyder, and two grandchildren. Services to be held on the mainland. Donations suggested to the Rotary Foundation and Diabetes Association.

Nancy S. Nagao, 70, of Honolulu, a former waitress for Fisherman's Wharf restaurant, died Thursday in St. Francis Hospice Liliha. She was born in Hilo, Hawaii. She is survived by sons Baron K. and Craig H.; daughters Rene L. Tomita and Candace N. Camp; brothers Hikoji and Donald S. Nakaoka, and three grandchildren. Services: 4 p.m. Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary.

Harold C.H. Nham, 82, of Hilo, Hawaii, a retired purchasing agent for Jas. W. Glover Ltd., died Thursday in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honokaa, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Yukimi; sons Gary, George and Matthew; daughter Vicky Uchiyama; brother Arthur; and seven grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hilo United Methodist Church, 374 Waianuenue Ave. (above the public library). Call from 10 a.m. No flowers. Casual attire.

Georgine "Lei" Rigg, 69, of Honolulu died Wednesday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Henry "Hank"; sons Mark, Scott, Matt and Douglas; brother Charles Knapp, and nine grandchildren. Memorial services: 9 a.m. Thursday at the Outrigger Canoe Club. Scattering of ashes to follow.

Walter T. Taira, 64, of Honolulu, a retired U.S. Post Office letter carrier, died Jan. 21 in Castle Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Kayle; daughters Alena K. Uga and Lina Taira; brothers Edward, George and Ernest; sisters Violet Yamaji, Dorothy Omori and Florence Goodness, and a graddaughter. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Call after 5 p.m. No flowers. Casual attire.
