McNally replaces Bill Trumbo, who resigned last summer. She becomes UHH's first full-time female athletic director.

McNally, who was selected from a nationwide pool of 48 candidates, was director of athletics and recreational services at NCAA Division II school Gannon University (Pa.) from January 1998 to July 1999. There, she directed the administrative and operational aspects of the program, which consisted of 21 varsity sports.

She earned a bachelor's of science in health and physical education from West Chester University, and is currently working on a master's degree in professional communications from LaSalle University.
