UH swim invitational

The University of Hawaii swimming and diving team begins its spring 2001 season Monday with the Rainbow Invitational at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on the UH campus.

The event begins with diving from 1-3 p.m., and the swimming starts at 4 p.m.

KFVE will televise the event on a delayed basis at 7 p.m. with a rebroadcast at 10:30 p.m.

UH head coach Bruce Kennard expects up to 10 teams to attend the invitational.

Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Drury College have committed to participate along with Hawaii.

The potential participating teams include Notre Dame, Iowa, Colorado State, Hamilton College (N.Y.) and Le Moyne (N.Y.) College.

The list of participating schools may be cut to six due to the event's time constraints.

All of the schools invited have men's and women's programs except Notre Dame, which only has a women's program.
