Vulcans hold off Pioneers

Scott Prather scored 27 points to help the University of Hawaii-Hilo past Lewis and Clark College, 91-84, at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

It was the fourth straight victory for the Vulcans (4-4) who had to overcome a 44-37 halftime deficit.

Prather was 4 of 9 from 3-point range.

Kyle Bartholomew and BJ Roger were dominant off the boards with nine rebounds apiece for UHH.

Bartholomew also had 16 points, as did teammate Alan Thomas, while Stanley Ibia also hit double figures with 11.

Scott Davis led the Pioneers (6-2) of Portland, Ore., with 32 points, while Colin Oriard tossed in 17 points and Jeff Auxier added 11.
