SOCCER:

The Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls' varsity season kicks off Tuesday with six of the seven league teams playing. Kamehameha won the ILH last year and was the top seed in the state tournament, but was knocked out in the semifinals by Pearl City. The Warriors open play Tuesday against Mid-Pacific. The ILH boys begin play Dec. 27.

BASKETBALL:

The annual Iolani Classic starts Monday and runs through next Friday. The 16-team field consists of six mainland teams, a squad from Okinawa, seven Oahu teams and a pair of neighbor island teams. Action Monday and Tuesday begins at 3:30 p.m. Eight games a day are scheduled for the final three days of the tournament, with action starting each day at 9:30 a.m. Tickets for the Classic are $6 for adults and $3 for children. For information, call 943-2208.

SOFTBALL NO-NO:

Jamie Reyes of Kaimuki tossed the first no-hitter of the softball season, shutting down Kalaheo in a 29-0 win on Saturday. Several other pitchers completed one-hit gems, including Shana Silva of Castle, Loihi McKeague of Pearl City and McKinley's Lia Pedrina.
