The puppets of Peter and various animals and musical

different musical instruments in an entertaining way.

Jim Gamble’s
‘Peter and the Wolf’
puppets return

Jim Gamble and his puppets bring an adaptation of "Peter and the Wolf" to Kennedy Theatre next month.

A puppet cast of animals, people and animated musical instruments will tell the traditional story (updated so the wolf is not killed, but taken to a zoo) in a way that introduces the audience of children to the various musical instruments.

Performances of "Peter and the Wolf" will be 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Jan 13, and 2 p.m. Jan. 14.

Tickets are $8 for regular admission; $7 for seniors, military personnel and University of Hawai'i faculty and staff; $6 for children and non-UHM students; and $3 for UHM students with valid I.D. They go on sale Jan. 5 at the Kennedy Theatre box office and also may be purchased through TicketPlus outlets, calling 526-4400 or online at http://www.hawaiitix.com.

For more information call 956-7655.

Momoa may do film

"Baywatch" hunk Jason Momoa may be trading his swim trunks for armor if a picture deal goes through.

Negotiations are underway for the part-Hawaiian actor to play a gladiator in an epic to be filmed in Italy.

It is still not know whether "Baywatch" will be renewed, but shooting of the gladiator picture would coincide with the lifeguard series' hiatus.

'Jurassic III' returns

"Jurassic Park Ill" which filmed in Hawaii earlier this year returns to Kauai next month to shoot the movie's ending.

"JPIII" will film all its major stars the second week in January. The Universal Pictures production filmed on Oahu and Kauai for about 20 days in September and October.

"JPIII" stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Tea Leoni and Willain Macy. The scheduled release is July 2001.

The movie is the third in the series based on a story by Steven Spielberg who directed the first two "Jurassic Parks."

In a published interview, Neill said the new film is set between the first two pictures. Other reports say the plot involves an airplane rescue attempt on the island led by Dr. Grant (Neill).

The production always planned to return to Hawaii for additional filming but not necessarily to do the ending, which hadn't been written when filming was done here earlier, a Universal spokesman said.
