Hawaii's first franchise of the fast-growing Computer Doctor International computer repair chain is scheduled to open Thursday at 1130 N. Nimitz Highway in Iwilei.

The store, called Computer Doctor Express of Oahu, will initially employ two technicians in the Nimitz Business Center.

Franchise owners Bud Challenger and Fiona Bland said they plan to add more Computer Doctor outlets outside downtown Honolulu and on the neighbor islands.

The Hawaii operation will be able to order computers and accessories, make upgrades and handle deliveries.

Aberdeen, S.D.-based Computer Doctor International, founded in 1992, has a franchise system of about 40 stores in several states on the mainland, and expects outlets to double in the next few months.
