Cayetano sponsors
Convention Center
e-commerce panel

Gov. Ben Cayetano wants you.

He wants you on the Internet doing business, that is.

To spur on the economy, Cayetano is sponsoring an e-commerce awareness campaign this week at the iTech Hawaii Technology Showcase at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Local leaders in Internet business will speak Wednesday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. on ways to get your business online. Besides information on the Net, the talks will feature information about training funds available from the state.

You can register for the seminars online by going to http://www.goitec.com and then to the ITEC event registration page.

GAY MARCH:

Gay-rights activists are pushing for equal-rights laws to be enacted when the state Legislature convenes next month.

According to Marriage Project-Hawaii, gay and lesbian activists will be pressing for a "comprehensive civil unions bill" that would offer marriage rights to gays and lesbians.

To publicize the legislation, a march around Oahu is planned for Jan. 16. It is expected to end Jan. 22 at the state Capitol.
