Busy career women and housewives can turn to an unusual vacation retreat to get in touch with their creativity while recharging their lives.

"Improv for the Woman's Spirit" will take place at the Mana Lea Gardens in Haiku, Maui, March 3-8. The retreat includes improvisation workshops for personal growth, yoga and lots of pampering. An inclusive package includes five-nights accommodations, all workshops and three gourmet vegetarian meals per day of the retreat starting at $975.00.

At the heart of the retreat is "Improvisation for the Spirit," a series of workshops where improvisational theater games are designed to get people to recognize their inner creativity. Katie Goodman of the Equinox Theatre Company in Bozeman, Mont., and creator of the program will lead the retreat.

Goodman is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher. The workshops will use comedy improv "to enable participants to learn self-trust, take risks, practice being in the present and how to be open to change," she said.

"The comedy improv exercises teach us to surrender to the moment, ridicule perfectionism, stay in beginner's mind and listen to our intuition," Goodman said. The workshop lessons can be easily applied to people's daily lives, she said.
