Brandon Spann scored 23 points, including eight straight during a late-second-half spurt, to lead the Green Wave over the host Vulcans in first-round play.The Division II Vulcans (0-1) stayed with the Green Wave (3-0) for most of the game. But Spann hit two 3-pointers and two free throws to break it open at 73-62.
