wins sweepstakes

By Gary T. Kubota, Star-Bulletin
Maui resident Tara Barron holds the $10,000 check she
won yesterday in a Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes.
Barron became the first person in Hawaii to be presented
with a check by Prize Patrol officials, who came with
roses, champagne and balloons to the Chop Shop in
Kahului, where she was having her hair trimmed.
Barron said she has not seen her mother in three
years, and plans to buy a first-class airline ticket
for her to come from Chicago to Maui.
