Masayo Abe, 85, of Paia, Maui, a retired seamstress for Ikeda Department Store in Paia, died Friday in Hale Makua. She was born in Keau. She is survived by daughters Kay Abe-Kaiser and Mary Okihara; a sister and brother in Japan, and a granddaughter. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nikkei Christian Church in Kahului. Call after 9:30 a.m. Committal services at a later date. Casual attire.

Jan Berman, 58, will be remembered in a celebration of life from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at Paradise Cove in Ko Olina. Scattering of ashes to follow. Casual Hawaiian attire. No flowers. The additional information for a Sept.28 obituary was provided by the family.

Pura V. Bonifacio, 93, of Honolulu died Sept. 30. She was born in Manila. Frank G. Borge, 84, of Kahului, a retired stevedore, died Sunday at home. He was born in Kuau, Maui. He is survived by companion Veronica P. Aceret; sons Frank S., Anthony "Tony" and Michael F. Pacita M. "Pat" Castillo, 66, of Honolulu died last Thursday in Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai. John R. "Biggie" Coston Jr., 69, of Kahakuloa Village, Maui, a computer analyst, died Monday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on Oahu. He is survived by wife Mary; daughters Lenora Hussey, Stephanie Gonzales, Malia Kekona, Mahealani Chung and Moanalani Coston; sons Tyrus, John J. and Kauhola; brothers Wayne Soares, Michael and George Bird and Robert, Francis, Gary, Luwellyn, Zackeriah, Ainsley and Matthrew Kauhola; sisters Diane Soares, Edith Herring, Elizabeth Redongo, Lynnette Havili, Momilani Kemfort and Alohalani Planesi, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Peg Gum, 74, formerly of Honolulu and Laguna Woods, Calif., owner of Peg Gum and Associates, died Oct. 2 in Milwaukee, Wis. She was born in Lima, Ohio. She is survived by daughters Susan Blair Gum and Jacquie Hatch and three grandchildren. No services.

Ethel C. Hamaguchi, 82, of Kailua died Monday in Castle Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Wayne; daughters Sandra Burdette and Lynn and Sharon Hamaguchi; brothers Ernest and Kenneth Oshima; sister Alice Oshima, and five grandchildren. Thomas K. "Oscar" Horikami, 77, of Honolulu, a retired U.S. Postal Service Pawaa Station clerk, died Oct. 3. He was born in Lahaina, Maui. Herbert T. Low, 86, of Honolulu, a public accountant, died last Thursday in Honolulu. Charles M. Moriki, 89, of Honolulu, a retired mechanic for the city Board of Water Supply, died Oct. 2 in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Kailua. He is survived by son Alvin S.; daughters Sherene S. Kiyabu and Janice M. Itagaki, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private services.

Harry W. Riggs, 82, of Kailua, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, died Friday in Kailua. He was born in California. He is survived by sons Jeffrey, David and H. Ronald, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services held.

William H.F. Schieber, 92, who worked for Hawaiian Electric Industries, died Sept. 17 in Auburn, Calif. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son William H.D.; daughter Florence N. Knedel, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private services.

Severino E. "Tomas" Tello, 94, of Honolulu, a retired masonry and mortuary apprentice, died Oct. 3 in Honolulu Convalescent Center. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by son Wayne; daughters Josephine Filomino, Faye Briones, Charlene "Honeygirl" Lopes, Hattie "Magdalen" Dumanal and Virginia Tello; sister Juliana Ignacio; ex-wife Hattie Charles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
