Punahou, Kamehameha
will meet again

FOOTBALL: Punahou tested Kamehameha in the first round, taking a 14-0 lead before the Warriors rebounded to beat the Buffanblu, 41-20. Can Punahou pull off the upset this time, or will Kamehameha's talent and depth prevail? Kickoff is 7:45 p.m., Friday at Aloha Stadium.

Farrington plays Mililani on Friday at Roosevelt in a game with Oahu Interscholastic Association playoff implications. Varsity starts around 7 p.m.

CROSS COUNTRY: OIA divisional championship meets are Saturday. The East meets are hosted by Castle and Kailua and the West by Nanakuli. The races begin at 2 p.m. due to Saturday's SAT tests. There is an all-ILH meet at Punahou, also at 2 p.m.

The St. Francis volleyball team is ranked No. 24 in the nation by HighWiredSports.com. The Troubadours are also rated 15th in the Pacfic Region, with Kamehameha at No. 22 and Punahou at No. 25. ... Kamehameha and St. Louis have both had 19 different players score points for their varsity football teams this season in only six Interscholastic League of Honolulu games for each. ... University High will not field a boys' varsity Division I basketball team this season. ... Iolani basketball player Bobby Nash is ranked by Athlon Magazine as one of the nation's top 50 sophomores going into this season. ... According to a report by the Hawaii Sports Network, two-time Star-Bulletin Hawaii Ms. Basketball Brandy Richardson has narrowed her college choices to Hawaii, UCLA, Arizona and UC-Santa Barbara. ... Waimea has not given up a point in three Kauai Interscholastic Federation games. ... Meanwhile, the St. Louis football team continues to creep up slowly in national rankings. The Crusaders remained status quo in Rivals.com (5th), SchoolSports.com (6th), Butkus (7th) and Fox (8th), but climbed a notch to No. 10 in USA Today. ... Waianae remains No. 8 in the Pacific Region by HighWiredSports.com
