Shosaburo Akamine, 95, of Waipahu, an Oahu Sugar Co. retiree, died Sept. 22 in Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi. He was born on Okinawa. He is survived by sons William S., Lawrence K. and Emory M.; daughters Beverly T. Akamine and Sharlene S. Candelaria, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private services.

Masashi "Masa" Arinaga, 80, of Kealia, Kauai, a retired carpenter with Lihue Plantation, died Monday at home. He also served as a state Board of Education member and a Kauai representative of the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union. He was born in Kealia. He is survived by wife Evelyn; sons Stephen, Larry and Clayton; daughter Pearl Melandish; brothers Robert, Clifford and Thomas; sisters Fujiko Mamura and Rachael Tamura, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. tomorrow at Kapaa Hongwanji Mission. Casual attire. No flowers.

Joseph F. "Joe" Carroll, 52, of Honolulu, a social worker, died Friday in Honolulu. He was born in Missouri. He is survived by sister Rita Vehige and brothers Michael and Justin. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Magic Island picnic area No. 34. Scattering of ashes to follow. Donation suggested to a charity of choice.

Charles S.Y. Chun, 79, of Mililani, a retired U.S. Army civilian employee, died Sept. 21 in China. He was born in Hakalau, Hawaii. He is survived by son Wayne; daughter Colleen; brothers Harold and Richard; sister Helen Powell; fiancee Belinda Yi, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services: 7 p.m. tomorrow at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1716 Komo Mai Drive. No flowers. Casual attire.

Rosalyn C. Ho, 87, of Honolulu died Sept. 27 in Kuakini Medical Center. She was born in Waipio. She is survived by son Garrett; sister Marquerite C. Pang, four grandsons and two great-grandsons. Lina Inauen, 71, of Honolulu, a retired airline employee, died Sept. 23 in the Integrated Health Services Inc. She was born in Switzerland. She is survived by brother Walter and sister Emmi Buchmann-Inauen. No services.

Lester I. Ishigaki, 47, of Wahiawa, a Paradise Beverage employee, died last Thursday at home. He was born in Wahiawa. He is survived by father Takashi "Charles," and sisters Sandra T. Kamaile Kane, 83, of Paia, Maui, died Tuesday at home. She was born in North Kohala, Hawaii. She is survived by sons Alexander, Elroy and Moses Jr.; daughters Elaine Kealoha, Dagmar Kane, Uleilia Reichel, Leona Stephens and Urana Coggins; sister Annie Laa; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Decklan D.K. Kekoa, 40, and Rebecca M. Sanchez-Kekoa, 33, of Kaunakakai died last Thursday in Kaunakakai. The couple were found dead in their home. They are survived by son Lucan and daughters Lateya, Leimana and Lanre Kekoa. Decklan is also survived by his parents May Dudoit and Joseph Kekoa. Rebecca is also survived by her mother Josephine Sanchez; brothers John and Paul Sanchez, and sister April Hanaoka. They will be remembered in an 11 a.m. service Saturday at the Kalaiakamanu Hou Church Hall in Kalamaula, Molokai. Call after 8 a.m. Rebecca's burial will follow at the Kapaakea Cemetery and Decklan's scattering of ashes will follow at the Kahinapohaku Pond.

Harry M. Logan, 71, of Paauilo Mauka, Hawaii, a retired gunsmith and bartender, died last Thursday in the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Logan was a U.S. Army retiree who received the Silver Star for his service in the Korean War. He was born in Los Angeles. He is survived by wife Gwynne G.; daughter Luon Ho; brothers George E. and Forrest L.; sister Phyllis R. Brown, and two grandchildren. Private services.

Martin P. Mangan, 80, of Kawaihae, Hawaii, a retired administrator for the federal Department of Interior and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during World War II, died last Thursday at home. He was born in Binghamton, N.Y. He is survived by wife Dorothy G. Private services.

Edwin "Eddie" Martins, 60, of Kapaa, Kauai, an animal warden for Kauai County, died Monday in Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Kapaa, Kauai. He is survived by daughter Jeannett and son Jason. Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Kapaa, Kauai. Call after 9 a.m. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Casual attire.

Dorothy Y. Okino, 87, of Honolulu died Sept. 24 in Honolulu. She was born in Iwilei. She is survived by sons Kenneth and Glenn; daughter Shirley; brother Tom Hashimoto; sisters Doris Sugiyama, June Honda and Helen Minoda, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Elizabeth K.W. "Grandma" Puha, 85, of Honolulu, the retired custodian who died Friday at home, is survived by 13 grandchildren. She will be remembered in a 12:30 p.m. service Tuesday at Borthwick Mortuary. Call from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Janet S. Schuetz, 62, of Kaneohe, a secretary for Kamehameha Schools, died Sept. 27 in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Minnesota. She is survived by husband Darrell R.; son Jon; daughter Lynn; father John Carr, and a grandchild. Memorial services: 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha Schools campus. Mills; sister Emma Bodewig, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on the mainland.

Christine M. Teran, 32, of Honolulu died Sept. 25 at home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Guadalupe; father Everett Knowles, and brothers Derek L. and Roy E. Knowles. Fujio Uradomo, 102, of Wailuku, a retired mason for the Wailuku Sugar Co., died yesterday in Hale Makua. He was born in Kumamoto, Japan. He is survived by children Naoyuki, Yukio and Shigeto Uradomo, Bernice Kitagawa and Blanche Watanabe; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Tetsuji Wakida, 90, of Hilo, a retired parts clerk for Orchid Isle Auto Center, died Tuesday in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Kenneth and Donald; daughters Elaine Oshiro, Evelyn Ueno and Ellen Sabidon, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Sunday at Dodo Mortuary. Henry K.Y. Wong, 71, of Honolulu, a retired supervisor for Foodland Super Market, died Sept. 23 in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Hazel; daughter Shelley Robinson; brothers Daniel and Herbert; sisters Lily Lee, Vivian Loui and Mildred Ching, and five grandchildren. Services were private.
