Julio Bona, 89, of Hilo, a retired mill supervisor for Laupahoehoe Sugar Company, died Tuesday at home. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Tamae; sons Ernest, Jerry, Alfred and Albert; daughter Beverly Hiyane, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were private.

William "Bill" Carter, 70, of Kailua, a retired promoter and fund-raiser, died Friday. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Elaine; son George; daughter Carla Benevides; step-sons Michael X., Mark J. and Matthew Mamczarz; mother Esther J.; brothers Marvin Carter, Albert Carter and Ronald C. Todd; sisters Myrtle Souza, Maile Shipe, Ramona Wong and June Rains, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services: Noon Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, 1230 Kailua Road. Ruby S. Ching, 83, of Kaneohe, a retired travel agent, died Sept. 15 in Castle Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. Services were private.

Lorraine H. Fuchigami, 55, of Lanai City, Lanai, an executive secretary for the Manele Bay Hotel, died Tuesday in Straub Clinic & Hospital. She was born in Lihue, Kauai. She is survived by husband Clifford T. "Taka"; sons Daniel and Kent; daughter Lynne Fuchigami-Costales; parents Charles Matsuo and Hatsuyo Maeda; brothers Wallace Maeda and Larry Maeda; sister Doris Prince, and three grandchildren. Services: 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Olivet Baptist Church. An additional service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hale O Manele, Lanai. Casual attire. No flowers. Ashes will be scattered Oct. 1.

Harry T. Hamada, 94, of Kamuela, Hawaii, a retired mechanic and chauffeur for Parker Ranch, died Tuesday at home. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by wife Dorothy; sons Kenneth, Terry and Roger, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were provate.

Satoshi Hamasaki, 84, of Honolulu, a retired federal employee at Schofield Barracks, died Sept. 11 in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Paauilo, Hawaii. He is survived by brother Richard N. Services were private.

Takeo Hino, 75, of Honolulu, a retired truck driver at Barbers Point Naval Base, died Sept. 4. He was born on Kauai. He is survived by brothers Charles, Hiroshi and Yoshio and sisters Clara Kamiyama, Kay Cooney and Merle Cosma. Services were private.

Sue Hwang, 56, of Honolulu, died Wednesday at home. She was born in Korea. She is survived by husband Gong Kim; daughter Fran Buckley, and two grandchildren. Services were private.

Kiyoko I. Isobe, 89, of Honolulu, a retired shipping supervisor for Hawaiian Printing Company, died Wednesday in Kuakini Geriatric Care. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sisters Tatsue Kanemoto and Helen Kato. Services: Noon Wednesday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire. No flowers.

John Kalani Jr., 74, of Kaneohe, a retired United Airlines employee, died Thursday in Kaiser Hospital. He was born in Paia, Maui. He is survived by wife Frances; sons Henry, John III and Kenneth; daughters Elaine Kalani, Melva Obillo and Johnnette Morton; brothers James and Herbert; sister Maile Lee, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Peter A. Kamekona, 65, of Chino Hills, Calif., died Wednesday at home. He was born in Papakolea. He is survived by wife Trinidad Atienza; sons Keith, Kevin and Kory; daughters Karleen and Kimberly, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Burial: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in California.

Catherine J. Lane, 69, of Kapolei, a retired manager at the Liberty House Distribution Center, died Sept. 3. She was born in Iowa. She is survived by daughter Tannie and six grandchildren. Private services.

Harry L. Lane, 65, of Kapolei, a University of Hawaii professor, died Sept. 20. He was born in Rockspring, Wyo. He is survived by daughters Tannie Lane and Debbie Giles; sister Linda O'Brien; mother Opal Lane, and six grandchildren. Private services.

Florence M. "Flo" Masaki, 64, of Honolulu, died Sept. 18 at home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by daughters Cynthia K. Sullivan and Naomi R. Charles C. Nelson Jr., 86, of Honolulu, a retired supervisor for Meadow Gold, died Sept. 1. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters Charlene Yogi, Naomi Akita, Evelyn Nelson, Jackie Nerona and Kathy Wolfram; brothers Walter and Paul; sisters Helen Perreira and Betty Nelson, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Denise M. Yamaoka, 16, a student, died Wednesday in Portland, Ore. She was born in Forest Grove, Ore. On Y. Yun, 85, of Honolulu, died Friday at St. Francis Hospice West. She was born in Korea. She is survived by sons Danny and Myong; daughters Sun S. Choe, Chong Richardson and Joyce Chong, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. at Nuuanu Memorial Park Mortuary.
