What are the unique qualifications you bring to this job?

I believe the uniqueness of my qualifications stems from the experiences which I've gained through the years. Coming from a humble family, I learned the value of hard work and the determination to do the best I can to succeed and the heart to help my fellow men. I also believe that faithfulness, availability and a teachable heart are the unique qualifications of a great leader.

What are the top three issues facing Hawaii (from most pressing to least)?

Government -- who has the power to alter the course of living. Economy -- must continue to look for ways to improve Hawaii's economy, while lowering the cost of living. The people -- the spirit of "aloha" must be preserved for the future of our children. All of the above is a compilation of issues, which are related to education, long/short term health care, crimes and etc.

Are changes needed to the civil service system? If so, what are they?

Bachelor's degree in economics, Chaminade '88, master's degree in business, Chaminade '94. My current occupation is college instructor/educator. Former Marine Corps officer and Gulf War veteran. Former distribution manager for Lion and Superior Coffee, respectively.

What are the top three issues facing Hawaii (from most pressing to least)?

As a husband and father of three school age boys, I believe improving our schools both academically and physically are the top priority. I believe that we should restore patriotism and morality to our public discourse. Ensure access to affordable long-term care.

Are changes needed to the civil service system? If so, what are they?

Yes. Mandatory drug testing for prison guards and heavy equipment operators. Reformation and graduation of benefit packages for new hires, grandfather in current employees.
