For the next two months, Leeward Oahu companies can tap a free business counseling program run by Bank of Hawaii and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

"Small Business Day at the Bank" lets entrepreneurs make appointments to meet with assistance professionals at Bankoh's branch at Waikele Center. "With growth in Ewa Beach, Mililani, Waikele and Kapolei, the Leeward area is expected to have the greatest number of start-up or expanding businesses," said Jane Sawyer, assistant director for SBA's Hawaii district. Businesses can make appointments to meet with SBA specialists and the program's partners, including:

Bullet Business Information & Counseling Center;
Bullet Hawaii Small Business Development Center Network;
Bullet Hawaii Women's Business Center;
Bullet Internal Revenue Service; and
Bullet Service Corps of Retired Executives.

The program starts Wednesday and ends Nov. 2.

To sign up, call 522-8130. For more information, call Sawyer at 541-2973.
