Kids Celebrate Spirit Week

Pupils at Kamiloiki Elementary School in Hawaii Kai celebrate
bad hair and funny hat day yesterday as part of the school's annual
Spirit Week. They are, from left in the front row, Mitchell Banning,
Kylee Church and Jackie Smith. Upside down is Natalee Reposa,
and then, from left, Stephanie Banning and Cheyenne Lee. They
are students from the classes of Terrie Kamo and Carol Fong.

Dress Rehearsal

Mitsuko Sakihara, left, and Hideko Watanabe of the Okinawan
dance group Majikina Honryu practice "Nariku Udui," a traditional
dance about a country girl who tries to chase birds from the grain
fields. The group was rehearsing at the Kapiolani bandstand last
night to prepare for this weekend's Okinawan Festival
at Kapiolani Park.
