Volunteers maintain
Manoa Falls Trail

By Ken Ige, Star-Bulletin
Students from Mililani Middle School yesterday formed
a bucket brigade and began hauling 15 tons of gravel up
the Manoa Falls Trail. They may not move all 15 tons,
but all the gravel they bring up will be used to reduce
erosion and make the trail less muddy. Besides the
150 students from Mililani, about 40 people from
the Happy Hikers, made up of folks from Joint
Intelligence Center Pacific, also volunteered
their time. The Manoa Falls Trail is one of
the most-hiked trails on Oahu.

Smith, Evan Cutler and Tim Vincelette of the
Happy Hikers shovel gravel.
