Mathew P. Avecilla, 82, of Waipahu, a U.S. Army retiree and retired Hickam Air Force Base barber, died July 27 in St. Francis Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. Dionicio C. Coloma, 61, of Kahului, a retired field worker for Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association, died Saturday in Maui Memorial Hospital. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Elena T.; sons Edward, Erick and Walter; daughters Charity Sagario, Ethel Mendoza and Jose and Nora Coloma; and 12 grandchildren. Haruko Funakoshi, 86, of Honolulu, a retired laundry worker for St. Francis Hospital, died Wednesday in Kuakini Hospital. She was born in Kahuku. Pedro A. Garcia, 85, of Halaula, Hawaii, a retired service truck driver for the former Kohala Sugar Co., died last Tuesday at home. He was born in the Philippines. John M. "Paloose" Kapumau Jr., 73, of Hilo, a Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation employee, died Thursday inHilo Hospital. He was born in Hilo.
