About 7,000 people are gathering at the Blaisdell Center arena this weekend for the annual convention of Oahu Jehovah's Witnesses.

Theodore Jaracz of New York, one member of the 12-person international governing body of the church, will give a keynote speech daily.

The program, which began yesterday, was to continue today with a baptism and ordination ceremony at 11:50 a.m.

A costumed dramatization of Biblical stories with messages for modern people will begin at 11:10 a.m. tomorrow. It is open to the public.

Eight other district conventions will be held throughout the summer on the neighbor islands and for non-English-speaking church members.
