Homicide and missing persons detectives are investigating the disappearance of a man who was last seen at a Waikiki nightclub.

A woman told police she was called by her boyfriend Monday night to pick him up from the Evolution Waikiki nightclub at 478 Ena Road.

When she arrived, she discovered her boyfriend was being held inside an office at the club.

After the nightclub closed on Tuesday morning, he reportedly was beaten by a man believed to be a bouncer and about three other men, police said. The bouncer apparently accused the man of trying to pick up his girlfriend.

The woman said she was kidnapped by a man and woman and taken to the Pearl Ridge area, where she was held for more than two hours, police said.

She called police when she was released.

Her boyfriend has not been seen since.

Police are hoping to question the bouncer. They could not locate him last night at the club.

No one at Evolution Waikiki could be reached for comment this morning.
