Matt Ward, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed junior college pitcher, has accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Hawaii.

Ward, who performed for Utah Valley State College the past two years, throws in the mid-80s, according to a UH news release.

The UH coaching staff was unvavailable for comment Monday.

Ward went 9-2 with three saves and a 1.76 ERA this past season on his way to all-Scenic West Conference honors.
