Pearl City High’s
Grant Yasui co-leader
in Rainbow Open

Grant Yasui, who will be entering his junior year at Pearl City High School in the fall, is the co-leader along with Daryl Inaba after the first round of the Rainbow Open yesterday at the Mililani Golf Club.

Both shot 66 to lead Tommy Hines and Ed Tischler by one stroke. Stephen Enriquez, Jeff Ferry, Ryan Masuda, Daniel Nishimoto and Jay Shannon are two back at 68.

Apana new promoter

Jerry Apana has been named the promoter for Hawaii Motor Speedway.

Apana has been involved in local racing for more than 20 years.

He previously served as head flagman, chairman of the competition committee and race director.
