Kawananakoa
spending time in
family business

Question: What ever happened to Quentin Kawananakoa?

Answer: Kawananakoa was state representative for District 26 (Punchbowl, Pacific Heights and Nuuanu) from 1995 to 1998. He ran for Congress in May 1998 but withdrew from the race three months later because of health reasons related to hypertension.

Since his run for Congress, Kawananakoa spent a year recuperating and getting his health in order. "My health really cleared up," he said.

Kawananakoa and his family have since moved into a new home in Lanikai and he has a new son, Riley, who is 7 months old.

In March, Kawananakoa left his position as attorney at Case Bigelow & Lombardi to work on the "family business" at the Estate of James Campbell. Kawanakoa is one of the heirs to the estate.

Recently, Kawananakoa applied to the executive master's in business administration program at the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
